Given the Wii's market penetration its impossible for it to die completely. They could sell no more systems and still have a viable software platform, but I wrote some editorials in 2006 saying this was going to happen (I said it would be in 2008, but what do I know). The fad was going to die off sometime, and without a steady stream of quality titles this sort of tapper off was inevitable. I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the Wii's lifespan resembles the Gamecube, with a handful of hig...

HHG is not my idea of a good source.

But anyways,
I just got done playing with Star Ocean:The Last Hope and it is the worst written, acted and directed game I have ever played. I stuck with it because I really like Star Ocean III, but god even I have my limits. It screams "RUSHED". I'm a computer scientist and I could kick the crap out of who ever edited this game.

By the way, a billion to one says that guy is old Ratchet.

Even though there was that little trailer in Quest For Booty, The game has not been confirmed. Trailers are not always right (*cough* MGS4 *cough*) but since its Insomniac it will likely be on time.

About 2 weeks ago, out of my disappointment of fallout 3, I decided to play Fallout 2 again. Fallout 2, best game period.

"According to Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR), only four percent of video games are going to bring their developers a profit this year."

They key words are "This Year". Most games make money from lifetime sales, including sales of the game when it is discounted. There are many, many industries that operate like this, like the auto and TV(sets) industry. If only 4% of games made money there wouldn't be a game industry.

Don't Pa...

As for the trailer, actually pretty good. I was surprised at the tone of it all, very serious, something I can appreciate. The president character seemed genuine. If you don't know the plot of the game, the trailer is a fairly succinct recap of the game's story setting. The first in game scene will probably be from the c0ckpit of that spaceship at the end.

Despite poor efforts from SE recently Im hopeful for this one. I liked SO3; The story was pretty good, the dialog wasn't painful like, say, Tales of Vesperia, and the gameplay was fun. The sci-fi setting is what I want out of this one, which is why I'm hoping they don't supplant you in a medieval planet for half the damn game. This is Tri-Ace so I guess I shouldn't hold SE recent nonsense against them.

PLEASE don't suck.

They're saying things like, "come on!", "jump!". The guy that hits the lava said "atsui" which means hot.

Also, the Japanese don't create Japanese words for foreign things, like titles and inventions. They simply transfer as best they can to their phonetic language. For example "Milk" is not Japanese so they say (Mi*ri*ku) "Milku". "Little Big planet" is not Japanese so they say (ri*tu*ra bu*ri*gu pu*ra*ne*to) "Litt...

Is he saying that all the versions will be identical or is he saying that the other versions wont suffer due to the 360; whose version will have some cutbacks. I can't tell if he is being vague or intentionally vaporous.

I didn't notice that. Given the number of "casuals" who bought that game I would not be surprised if a large number of them don't have high speed internet.

Disgaea 3 has a date of 8/28/08

Soooooo, shut up now.

This may only be for that store, or it may be temporary.

Also, why would only the arcade price reduction be in the computer? I used to work at Game Crazy and we got price changes in batches, not one at a time.

I own both consoles, and when the game went multiplatform I didn't mind since they said that the game itself would be unaffected... But why the HELL should we have to wait for the 360 port to be done? Unless Microsoft paid them (which annoys me for different reasons) this doesn't make sense.

When it says (the wood) it means moko or Thursday. When it says (month) it means getsu, or Monday. F.Y.I. if anyone was confused.

I would prefer only know about a game about 6-9 months before it is released. It prevents what i call the "Blue Balls" effect where you wait for a game for 2 years or more (*cough* fallout 3 *cough*) and when it comes out the act of playing it cant possibly make up for waiting for it for so long.

This is the first generic denial they have ever given. Maybe there is some truth to this.

This goes to show you, read the article carefully.
But as I said before, this March 07 contest kinda proves that Microsoft knew the game wasn't going to be out last winter or this spring. This fall at the earliest, and now that seems very unlikely.
